Like a lot of photographers, I’m much more comfortable behind a lens than in front of one.
I have a background in BBC radio journalism where I reported for The World Service in several countries in East Africa before moving into photography. I worked alongside some brilliant photojournalists over the years who seeded my love of photography, and it wasn’t long before I had started filing my own images to news desks, before making the change to photography full time. I try to keep the observational aspects of journalism alive within my wedding photographs.
I fell in love with documentary wedding photography because ultimately I am fascinated by people. Being invited to take really personal images of people on one of the most emotionally significant days of their lives still feels like a privilege, and I hope this comes across in my work.
I have photographed over 400 weddings and worked all across the UK and occasionally further afield. I have photographed big weddings in fancy hotels that last for days and tiny, private ceremonies at local registry offices that are over in the blink of an eye.
I’m friendly and easy-going and I like to think I have good people skills and can read a room.
If you like what you see here then it would be an honour to photograph your wedding. Please drop me a line to check my availability for your wedding day.
